September 11 we enjoyed the Last Night at the Proms at Hyde Park London with a few friends.  The headliner was Barry Manilow and, even though I am not much a fan, we had an absolute blast singing all his hits at the top of our lungs along with all the extremely “pissed” (that’s drunk in American) Brits.  The Proms is 114 years old and still remains true to its original aim: to present the widest possible range of music performed to the highest standards, to large audiences. offering more popular programs, adopting a less formal promenade arrangement, and keeping ticket prices low.
